I build product organizations, and the products that lead their markets. My career runs from security to product at scale: protecting a major bank's internet applications, building lawful interception products, running platforms that process $4B+ a month, and rebuilding a fintech product line from scratch.

For the last decade I've led product in data security. I ran two-thirds of a Nasdaq-listed portfolio through 5x revenue growth, invented the products that became the staple of its deals, led its move to SaaS, and opened its AI security line with the industry's first purpose-built product to secure Microsoft 365 Copilot. My principle: AI security is data security.

Today I lead product strategy for the largest solution area at Cognyte (Nasdaq: CGNT).

Experience

25+ years in security and product

Cognyte

Nasdaq: CGNT
Jan 2026 - Present
Vice President of Product Management & Strategy
Network Intelligence Analytics - AI-driven analytics on communication network data for security and law enforcement agencies

I own product strategy and the roadmap end to end for Cognyte's largest solution area.

Varonis

Nasdaq: VRNS
2015 - Sep 2025
Vice President of Product Management
Global leader in data security, user-behavior analytics & cloud security

I ran two-thirds of the portfolio: 2 of its 3 product organizations, Data Protection, which stops breaches, and Compliance & Privacy, which proves compliance. I organized both around the problem the customer is solving, not around our products.

I built the Compliance & Privacy product organization from zero and led 60+ product managers who set the roadmap for the CTO's 900+ person engineering organization across multiple regions.

I owned product end to end, inside and out: product operations, the feedback loop with sales, customer success and enterprise accounts, and the metrics that tie every release first to the sale and then to retention. I reported to the EVP Engineering & CTO, the company's No. 2 executive, and presented product strategy directly to the board.

Products invented and priced
  • Turned classification into the staple of the company's deals: invented Data Classification Labels and the Data Classification Policy Pack, which turns written regulation (GDPR, HIPAA, and every US state privacy law) into built-in policies the platform enforces on its own. Priced the Policy Pack as a paid license from day one, sold it for 5 years to more than half the customer base, and drove classification to an 87% attach rate, meaning 87% of deals included it. Then built it into the platform core as 1 of the 5 modules in every SaaS license.
  • Reimagined the classification engine and made it the industry leader in accuracy: replaced a basic pattern matcher with a hybrid of hundreds of built-in identifiers and supervised learning that reads context and finds the sensitive data no rule covers. Fewer false positives, and US patents granted on the approach.
  • Invented, named, and launched the Data Lifecycle Management product family: I carried 3 data governance products from market study and business case to launch: ROT, which finds redundant, obsolete and trivial data to clean up, Privacy Automation, and Data Lifecycle Automation. Privacy Automation cut the time to answer a data subject request, a person asking what data a company holds on them, from 21 days to 5. The first product shipped in April 2025, and the company launched the full family in September 2026.
AI security and acquisitions
  • Shipped the industry's first purpose-built product to secure Microsoft 365 Copilot, opening the company's AI security line: visibility and control over what data reaches Copilot, so enterprises could switch it on. Launched in April 2024 as the capstone of a 6-year joint-product partnership that Microsoft put on its own stage at RSA and Ignite in 2018, and that shipped the 2019 Microsoft Information Protection integration. Set the direction and forward offering of that line, which culminated in the AllTrue.ai acquisition and the launch of Atlas, the company's AI security platform with intent-based controls and an AI gateway.
  • Led the acquisitions that took the company into AI: SlashNext (September 2025, up to $150M), the AI-native email security company that landed in my portfolio and shipped as Varonis Interceptor within weeks. Also led the Cyral acquisition (March 2025), which extended the data protection lines into database activity monitoring. I filed the company's LLM-based email security patent application 2 years before the SlashNext deal, within a year of ChatGPT's launch.
Platform, cloud and SaaS
  • Transformed the company from on-premises software to SaaS: set product strategy for the entire portfolio through the transition and brought a single SaaS platform to full parity with the self-hosted products, so the installed base could migrate without giving up a single capability. SaaS reached 76% of annual recurring revenue by September 2025, up from 53% just 9 months earlier.
  • Drove the company's first acquisition, Polyrize, and took the portfolio to the cloud: expanded classification and data protection from on-premises and Microsoft 365 to AWS, Azure, Salesforce, databases, and more, so the cloud offering competed on the one thing customers actually test, accuracy.
  • Owned data access governance and took it to Microsoft 365, the cloud, and databases: delivered the Automation Engine on Microsoft 365, extended permissions protection to databases, and brought least-privilege automation to the cloud, eliminating thousands of person-years of manual security work across the customer base.
Market recognition
  • Led the portfolio that Forrester scored highest of any vendor on both Current Offering and Strategy: a Leader and Customer Favorite in The Forrester Wave: Data Security Platforms, Q1 2025, and Gartner Peer Insights Customers' Choice for DSPM 3 years running. I was the voice of product to the board, investors, analysts, Fortune 500 customers, and partners.
Earlier career

Opteck Financial Services

2014 - Nov 2015
Vice President of Product Management
Fintech - web and mobile trading platforms for retail investors

At Opteck I was the company's first product executive. I built the product organization from scratch, and hired and led every product manager in it.

  • Rebuilt the entire product line: website, trading platforms, mobile apps, mobile web, desktop, and CRM.
  • Owned the company roadmap end to end: prioritization, resources, R&D scheduling, and the product methodology the teams worked by.
  • Ran growth as a product discipline: funnel and conversion optimization, A/B testing, visitor targeting, BI and reporting, and marketing automation across multiple sites.

Playtech

LSE: PTEC
2012 - 2014
Group Product Manager
Online gaming and trading platforms for major companies in Europe and Asia

At Playtech I owned product strategy for one of the world's largest online gaming and trading platforms, and I presented product performance to the board every quarter. It's where I learned to run product when every release touches real money.

  • Product lines processing $4B+ a month: I led a global team of 7 product managers and a 30+ person cross-functional organization across multiple regions.
  • The company's voice outside: owned go-to-market strategy, presented at industry conferences, and led key customer negotiations.
  • One roadmap across every product line: prioritization, R&D scheduling and resources for web, desktop, native mobile and HTML5 products.

Refresh

2009 - 2012
Manager of Products and Projects
Social media company - social and mobile apps and campaign platforms for leading companies

At Refresh I ran a 16-person product, design and engineering team, and I owned both the product and its delivery.

  • Projects from client requirements to launch: specification, then design, development and test teams, in-house and external.

  • Strategic customers abroad: built direct relationships and tailored the product's value to each customer's needs.
  • Sales: presented the product and led the negotiations through to closed deals.
  • Product direction: shaped the development path, evaluated new technologies, and led specification from functional analysis to user interface design.

Verint

2002 - 2006
Feature Leader
Security division - lawful interception products

At Verint, the New York-based security and intelligence company, I built lawful interception products and led development teams of up to 20 engineers. That product line is still on the market today, and I lead it now at Cognyte.
